About Us

Woodstock Runners has been meeting since 1980. We cater for runners of all abilities and our members range in age from 15 to 83 years. We encourage members to participate in fun runs both as individuals and as part of a team.

The Woostock Runners vision is

“To maintain an inclusive social running environment that welcomes runners of all abilities”

Our coached sessions occur at 6:30pm on the grass tracks at King George Park, Rozelle on Monday and at Campbell Athletic Field, Canterbury on Thursday nights. Both nights are led by an Athletic NSW accredited volunteer coaches from the club, and do a variety of different interval and speed training sessions ranging from sprints to mile repeats. A warm up, cool down and stretches are included as part of the session. All levels of running ability are welcomed and catered for with all sessions run to time rather than distance so you are never left behind.

During Daylight Savings, Woodstock Runners meet at Ewen Park, Hurlstone Park, on Tuesday night at 6.20pm and run variety or courses alongside the Cooks River.

On Saturday morning members that don’t run at various parkrun events meet at Brett Park, Drummoyne at 7.20am for a social run around Iron Cove Bay or through surrounding streets and parks.

For those looking to do longer training runs, we run Sunday mornings from Leichardt Park Aquatic Centre at 7am with distances ranging between between 12-30km. The Sunday groups are self organised with pre-agreed routes via the members dedicated facebook page that cater for similar paced runners. While these runs continue throughout the year there is a key focus in the lead up to the major city marathons, such as Canberra, Gold Coast, Sydney and Melbourne.

Throughout the year the club also holds many internal events combining social and sporting elements. On certain Saturdays throughout the year, there is a Handicap race series which utilises Sydney’s growing parkrun events.

We invite runners to come along to any Monday or Thursday night for a couple of sesions as visitors before deciding whether our club best suits their needs. We look forward to welcoming you!
