The Blacktown M7 marathon…… a tale of ribs, runs, personal bests and pickle juice

It had been a couple of years since I ran a marathon and I decided that I would give it another go in 2015. The run up to the M7 Blacktown marathon had just as many ups and downs as the race itself. The original plan was to run the Canberra marathon earlier in the year and training had been going well right up until a fortnight before when I cracked a couple of ribs playing football. Needless to say it was a few weeks on the sidelines and the search for the next marathon began.

Ran away from Winter looking Summer: A Woodstocker trip to Europe

I started my journey on my plan to visit Europe, a visit to my Parents in the Philippines. As expected, I have indulged in food, as it is a part of the culture as I catch up with my family and friends.  I was a bit anxious of the extra rolls and weight that has been gained, but I knew that I will be walking a lot on my trip to Europe.

What's your goal - city2surf special

Name: Carina Gregory

My goal is 80 mins.

What I like about the event is participating in the world's largest fun run with like minded people and the beautiful harbour views along the way. Although I'm supposed to be concentrating on the running!

Name: Sarah Waladan

My goal is to beat my PB from last year which was 67 minutes 23 seconds.

My first c2s was in 2006 and I've run it most years since then. It is one of my favourite races - great atmosphere and an all round great event; love all the bands and crazy costumes.

Name: Nic Bailey

I've entered c2s this year as it's the first time I've qualified for a preferred start! I'm not as fit as I was last year, so my plan is to attempt to run sensibly and not really focus on pace or time. There's a great atmosphere along the course and it's a challenging run, I'm looking forward to another fun year!
