Woodies!!

While having coffee and pancakes this Saturday morning (21/11/09), why not discuss a bit of running in April next year. Why April? Cos that's Canberra Marathon time, WOOHOO!!!

As you may know last year we had a decent Woodstock presence at the Marathon. A few first-timers, a few not so first-timers and a few that took the easy option the day before, not mentioning any names - Bron Brons!!

This coming year we're hoping to have an even better turnout and make it again something of a weekend.

So set yourself a goal and tell everyone at Xmas your target for the New Year - complete a marathon, do a marathon PB or come to be a bag carrier for the Marathon runners!!

Discount entries close on 1st Dec, the discount saves you $10 (apparently that's 3 beers in RSL, 2 beers in Hotel, and 1 beer at Ivy. Resource - Greg Muir - "Nights on the Town when I was Young").

What is even better is that you don't have to worry about doing those long arduous training runs alone. A few of us have discussed and like last year, we'll be pounding the pavements early on Sunday mornings beginning in the New Year (Mid-Jan). These runs will be around Woodstock/Cooks River/Bay Run territory and are likely to builld up weekly as the race draws nearer. They will be easily modified to suit all needs, so don't be scared by distance, times.

So if you're interested, send me an email and give me your current 'steady' going rate for 10km. Don't put down 32:45mins, cos i know only i can do that at a steady pace....
