Welcome to Saturday morning Woodstock – come along and join in. We have faster runners, medium runners, slower runners and slow walkers and runners. We include older runners over 60 to younger runners over 18 and all ages in between.

We meet at Brett Park, Drummoyne. Our meeting place is in Formosa St. about 100 metres from the Formosa St. and Henley Marine Drive corner (at the BBQ area just up the hill from the kid’s playground equiptment). You will see Woodstock runners in white and blue singlets standing around. Ask for Rick Collins to get you started. It is best to get there by about 7:20am.

We all set off at 7:30am. Before too long the group breaks up into smaller groups of various speeds from faster to slower runners and walkers. Our faster runners are very fast and our slower runners are very slow so don’t feel that you would ever be left behind. The faster runners go ahead while the majority of runners take it easy to enjoy the run with some talking etc. along the way. We all meet up again at the start/finish after about 40 to 50 minutes running for a cool drink (and then usually quite a few runners end up at the local coffee shop). We run about 7 to 9 kilometres depending on which track we take around the bay area. The runs are mostly on tracks through the parklands on or around the bay waterfront.

Throughout the year there are always groups within the group training for various events such as fun runs, 5K runs, City2Surf, 10K runs, half marathons and marathons. About every six weeks there is usually some type of event on to train for. Runners training for the longer distances often meet up to run earlier at 5:30am or 6:30am, and then join the main group at 7.30am.

Visitors are encouraged to try us out before joining. You can try us out for a period of two weeks – free! Just come along and introduce yourself. Once you have trialed us for two weeks, signing up is easy and gets you a club singlet and access to all Saturday runs, as well as weekly runs on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights. See our How to Join page for more information.

We look forward to catching up with you on a Saturday morning.
